Consurgo

Consurgo” (To Arise) is a steampunkish tale of a girl and her missing ball sharing the streets with robotic monsters. Her father tries to get the ball back for her, but then it all just goes wrong. The animated short comes from students at The Utrecht School of Arts.

It would be nice to see Hollywood animation studios taking risks like this. There’s nothing adventurous or dangerous in animation. Pixar and Miyazaki are great, don’t get me wrong, but otherwise, there’s no sense of the otherworldly. There’s nothing like this.
