The Drop in US Crime

Robbery rates and murder rates have been on a sharp decline in the United States since 1991. The BBC looks at ten theories that might help explain why. It’s also evidence that the country is theoretically safer than it ever has been. Except that the prison populations are still sky high. There’s definitely a strange discrepancy between the low crime rates and high prison populations.
